Long-Term Care: Perceptions, Realities and Steps You Can Take to Prepare

Note: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the library has temporarily disallowed events. We have decided to give these presentations on an individual basis, and are available at your convenience.

When it comes to Long-Term Care, the perceptions surrounding how coverage works, how much it costs, and what age is "too old" to get coverage does not seem to line up with the realities. In this presentation, we will discuss the three main ways to prepare for what could be a devastating financial event: Self-Insurance (pay the expenses out-of-pocket), Traditional Long-Term Care insurance (pay premiums to and insurance company for specific coverage), or a Hybrid Long-Term Care insurance policy (utilize products such as fixed annuities which include long-term care coverage benefits). Each have the advantages and disadvantages, which is why our conversation is so important.

It should be noted, this program is not affiliated with or sponsored by the St. Charles City-County Library District. This event is co-sponsored by Johnson Financial Group and Global Atlantic Financial Group.
